Grievance Redressal

A grievance redressal committee is a body that addresses grievances raised by students and staff, and aims to resolve them in a fair and impartial manner. Some of the functions of a grievance redressal committee include: 

  • Accepting grievances: The committee accepts written grievances from students and staff.
  • Investigating grievances: The committee studies the grievance, examines relevant documents, and discusses the issue with the concerned parties.
  • Recommending action: The committee makes recommendations and submits a report to the relevant authority.
  • Mediating: The committee may mediate between the complainant and the defendant.
  • Monitoring: The committee monitors the functioning of the grievance redressal policy.
  • Encouraging expression: The committee encourages students to express their grievances without fear of victimization.
  • Advising: The committee advises students on their rights and responsibilities, and on how to behave towards each other and the college administration.
  • Supporting: The committee supports students who have been deprived of services they are entitled to.
  • Making officials accountable: The committee ensures that college officials are responsive and accountable to students.
